Mayor Lazatin launches drive vs illegal PUVs

Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has issued Executive Order No. 24 deputizing Public Transportation Office (PTRO) Officers to lead the saturation campaign against Illegal Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs).

Mayor Lazatin emphasized the drive against illegal PUVs will strengthen the enforcement of the city traffic ordinances.

The saturation campaign will go after PUVs with no mayor’s permits, no MTOPS, colorums, and other violations of local ordinances passed to regulate public and private vehicles within Angeles City.

City Ordinances Nos 296, S-2011; 307, S-2012; 313, S-2013; 338, S-2013 and 61, S-2011 were enacted for the purpose of regulating public and private vehicles within Angeles City.

Section 444 Par 2 of the Local Government Code of 1991, states that for effective governance, the City Mayor “shall issue such executive orders as necessary for the proper enforcement and execution of laws and ordinances.”

The PTRO will be headed by Ma. Luisa G. Priniel as OIC, PTRO; Evelyn Lansangan, Deputy OIC; Aurelio Magtuloy, Tean Leader, Flying Squad; Albert Antoco, Asst, Team Leader; and Gregorio Ramirez, Asst. Team Leader.
