ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo 'Pogi' Lazatin Jr. wants better access to public health services, as a new minor surgery clinic, animal bite treatment center, and dental clinic will soon be available to Angeleños - all services free of charge.

According to the Mayor, Executive Asst. IV Reina Manuel already inspected the ongoing repair and set up of the said three-in-one center on January 6, 2020, which will be inaugurated in February.

"This is one of our priority projects in terms of health. We are pushing for medical care to be readily available to poor and marginalized Angeleños," he said.

"This health center," the Mayor added, "will be located at City Hall Compound, Barangay Pulung Maragul here."

The Mayor also furthered that this is the City Government's commitment to monitor health problems and ensure the safety of Angeleños, especially the indigent residents.

"The first step for us is to put up a medical care center which is closer to the people. Yung hindi sila mahihiya magpunta or magpacheck-up sa mga doktor o health staff natin. Let us identify the health problems in our community to resolve them right away," he said.

According to the Mayor, there will be free services in the said clinic like minor surgery, tooth extraction and operation tuli every summer, where 500 boys are the target beneficiaries this April.

"Let us link them to their needed personal health services that will support efforts to continuously protect them from health hazards," he shared.

The Mayor mentioned that this is a continuation of the legacy of his father, Former Angeles City Mayor and 1st District Rep. Carmelo ‘Tarzan’ Lazatin, since it is during his administration when health services in the City became more affordable and accessible.

In fact, it was during his father’s stint when a Dental Clinic inside the City Hall was established, and medicines in health centers and Dispensary Clinic in City Hall were made readily available.

“Just like my Dad, I will continue to promote and prioritize the health programs for my constituents,” he added.
