ANGELES CITY — In his final State of the Children’s Address, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. announced the opening of 11 primary health care facilities in January 2025, with a P60 million budget allocation.
In his speech, Lazatin said that these centers are located in Barangays Tabun, Pulungbulu, and Capaya, and will enhance access to essential medical services.
Additionally, five more health units will open in Barangays Cutud, Pampang, Balibago, Pulungbulu, and Malabanias.
To support these new centers, the city has hired 11 rural health physicians, 11 medical technologists, and 11 laboratory aides, ensuring adequate staffing and improved healthcare delivery.
Mayor Lazatin also mentioned the success of the city’s free circumcision program, “Magpatuli para Pogi.”
Conducted from June 18 to July 18, 2024, in six Rural Health Units, the program provided free circumcision to 2,158 boys, addressing a crucial health need for young Angeleños.
“These health services will provide vital support to our youth and underserved communities, ensuring they receive the care they need,” Lazatin stated.
Mayor Lazatin concluded by expressing gratitude to city government employees for their dedication, underscoring the lasting impact of these health programs on the lives of Angeleño children.
