ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi “Lazatin, Jr. said the city government here is set to provide free clothing to all housed individuals at soon to be opened Bale Pusu Home for the Aged and the existing Bahay Pag-Asa, the city’s youth reformation center.

This was also confirmed by Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, who recently coordinated with a renowned Angelen?a designer — Rosette Ramos-Biag — to provide the patterns or designs for the clothing such as pajama and duster for the elderly, and shorts and t-shirts for the children in conflict with the law.

The said clothing will be made by 10 hired home-based mananahis under the Angelen?o First Livelihood program of Mayor Lazatin.

The goal of this program, according to Calaguas, is to provide comfort and proper clothing for the housed individuals. While they stay at the centers, their welfare is a priority, including the provision of clothing.

At the same time, the livelihood project will provide sustainable income for the home-based mananahis.

Ramos-Biag said the terno for the youth in Bahay Pag-Asa reformation center will come in three sizes – from small to large, while the pajamas and duster for the elderly will be available in free sizes.

Small, Medium at Large.

She then thanked the city government for tapping her in implementing the project, saying it is an opportunity and inspiration for local designers like her.

Ramos-Biag is also one of the 17 Angelen?o designers in the facemask and Personal Protective Equipment making project of the city government.

Some 8,000 PPEs and 70,000 facemasks have already been turned over to the Angeles City Economic Development Investment and Promotions Office (ACEDIPO) and Public Employment Services Office (PESO) by the ‘mananahis’.
