Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. on February 2 announced that the One Town One Product (OTOP) store has exceeded its sales expectation for the recent holiday season, earning P250,664.00 in two months.

Lazatin said that the OTOP Store earned a P200,958.00 sale for December 2020 and P49,706.00 sale for January 2021.

This was confirmed by Office of the Mayor thru Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions led by officer-in-charge Irish Bonus-Llego, the offices supervising the souvenir center.

Manuel said that sales for the month of December 2020 were totalled from the combined sales for of walk-in customers, Shopee Orders, and the historic 12.12 Live Selling event, which amounted to P71,626.00; orders of First District Representative Carmelo "Jon" Lazatin II, who purchased wooden plate sets amounting to P62,000.00 as souvenir gifts to the members of the Congress; and the ChristMask Project intended to raise funds for the Aeta community of Sapang Bato, which earned P67,359.

IC Calaguas, Mayor Lazatin's Chief Adviser and Tactician, who has been actively supporting the Gawang Angelen?o since it's lauching last June 2020, was one of the main host of the OTOP Store's historic live selling alongside Manuel.

City Councilor Atty. Arvin Suller also supported the live selling event.

This year, 2021 kickstarted with a total of P49,706.00 worth of sales.

"Nakatataba po ng puso na malaman natin na maraming mga Angelen?o ang tumatangkilik sa gawa ng ating mga masisipag at creative na partner MSMEs. Patunay lamang po ito na hindi lang maganda ang mga gawang Angelen?o kundi dekalidad pa," Lazatin said.

Manuel on the other hand said she was thankful that the efforts of the City Government to help micro small and medium enterprises bounce back from the pandemic is coming to fruition. During the pandemic, it can be recalled that Mayor Lazatin waived the P500 registration fee.

The City Government guaranteed the OTOP Store sales are given directly to the suppliers.

"Kami po ay nagpapasalamat sa mga sumusuporta simula noong umpisahan natin ang project na ito, dahil talagang napakalaking tulong po ito para sa ating mga maliliit na negosyante," Manuel said.

Calaguas on the other hand expressed her thanks to non-Angelen?os who, despite being from other Regions, still supports Gawang Angelen?os.

Calaguas added that the utilization of various social media and e-commerce platforms such as Shopee has boosted the promotion of the gawang Angelen?o products.
