ANGELES CITY — A total of 1,155 residents in Barangay Agapito Del Rosario received their first dose of vaccination via the Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay launched by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.
Mayor Lazatin, who personally oversaw the vaccination, said the city government allotted a two-day schedule for the inoculation to accommodate all residents in Barangay ADR.
“Tuloy-tuloy po ang isinasagawa nating hakbang upang tuluyang ma-achieve ang hangarin nating herd immunity,” Lazatin said.
Barangay ADR is the second beneficiary-village of the house-to-house vaccination, using a mobile clinic and an ambulance. The city government deployed vaccinators, health workers, and support staff from Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center led by Dr. Froilan Canlas; City Health Office led by Dr. Verona Guevarra; Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office led by Rodolfo Simeon; Gender and Development Office headed by Mina Cabiles; and City Nutrition Office led by Donatila Guanzon.
For her part, Barangay ADR Captain Judy Susan said the Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay of Mayor Lazatin is very efficient and easier for her kababayans to get vaccinated, because there is no need to go to designated inoculation centers in the City College of Angeles and Angeles City National High School.
“Napakalaking bagay po ng programang ito ng siyudad, hindi na po kinakailangang pumila ng aking mga kababayan sa CCA dahil nandito na po mismo yung bakuna sa barangay,” Susan said.
One Elmer Gutierrez, a resident of the village also shared: “Malaking tulong po ang pagparito ng bakuna sa barangay, napakabilis po ng serbisyo.”
With this, Susan said the city government is properly managing the number of people going in and out of the vaccination areas to avoid overcrowding.
“Nababawasan po yung mga tao na pumupunta sa vaccination areas kasi mayroon na pong bara-barangay na bakuna,” she added.
Susan furthered that most of her kababayans who received the vaccination are workers, saying those who belong in the priority group like senior citizens, bedridden elderly and Persons with Disabilities already received their inoculation via homebased vaccination and in CCA and ACNHS.
Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, also the chief implementer of the city’s vaccination program, meanwhile said with the launching of the Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay and Sundo Bakuna sa barangay, the city government is surpassing its target to vaccinate 6,000 Angeleños daily.
To date, 2,151 residents have already been vaccinated via the Ronda Bakuna sa Barangay — of which 996 are from the Barangay Virgen Delos Remedios, the first ever residents who benefitted from the said program.
