No ASF in AC; hundreds troop to Lechon Festival

ANGELES CITY – Hundreds of Angelenos from 33 barangays here joined the Lechon Festival in Barangay Pampang led by Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr., Vice Mayor Vicky Vega, City Councilors, among others.

This is part of the celebration of zero African Swine Fever virus in the City. According to the Mayor, there is no record of the said virus in the City.

The intensive efforts of the Angeles City Government thru the Public Market Association, and City Veterinary Office, assured that meat sold in the public markets are safe.

“We have shown to our constituents that our meat here is safe, in fact, Pampang Public Market is one of the safest markets in the country,” he said.

Moreover, according to Jessie Lugtu of Pampang Public Market, the market has more than 300 stalls selling meat products, and all of these were found safe from ASF virus.

The meat product vendors, meanwhile, thanked Mayor Lazatin for his unending support.

He then said that the Angeles City Government will continue the monitoring of pigs to against the spread of the virus.assure that no virus will transpire here.
