In line with the fight of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. to end nutritional deficiencies, children-beneficiaries of 33 barangays here will receive their vitamin A supplementation.
According to Mayor Lazatin, this is in line with the Universal Health Care High Impact Five (5) strategy campaign of Angeles City.
He then mentioned that the City, thru its Health Office in coordination with Population Development Division, is conducting a regular supplementation for various age groups.
The Mayor personally administered the event to converse with the parents and barangay executives in letting them know that the City Hall is prioritizing the health of its constituents, especially children – the future generation.
Moreover, the Mayor said that this is a continuous program to cater the beneficiaries in the City. He added that monitoring the welfare of Angeleños will not just start or stop during July or also known as Nutrition month.
Meanwhile, this health care was developed from Department of Health (DOH) since April 2015. This aims to address the gaps and challenges in the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and National Objectives for Health.
The five model plans for the mentioned strategy are: (1) the maternal care model plan which aims to reduce maternal mortality and improve maternal health, (2) the infant care model plan which aims to reduce infant mortality, (3) the under five care which aims to reduce mortality among children below five years old, (4) HIV AIDS model plan to halt the spread of HIV AIDS, and (5) Service Delivery Network model plan. #-LDF
