ANGELES CITY – The Angeles City Government posted an P80,273,792.03 tax collection in the first two months of the administration of Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. versus P74,153,764.46 for the same period last year.

Driven by the Business Permit and Licensing Division (BPLD), the total revenue for July to August marked a 7.62% increase.

The processing and issuance of BPLD, applied and issued, also rose from 609 in 2018 to 619 in 2019, and 961 in 2018 to 1005 in 2019, respectively.

Furthermore, the continuous inter-office saturation inspection of restaurants and establishments conducted by the BPLD, City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), City Health Office (CHO) and City Information Office (CIO) received positive reactions from Angelenos, since there was zero recorded inspections of establishments by the previous administration.

According to BPLD Head Evangeline Malonzo, this is in line with the campaign of Mayor Lazatin to require all business establishments in the City to follow regulations and policies.

She also stressed that business permit issuances will be easy, since the BPLD is already a one-stop-shop. Papers, if complete, can be processed within 25 minutes.

“Basta kumpleto ang requirements at wala silang violation, matatapos agad ang proseso,” Malonzo furthered.

The BPLD Head also mentioned that the maximum Standard Processing Time for new client and renewal only takes one day, subject for post audit.

She also added that the delay of paperwork will depend upon the client.

“For example, sa payment, dahil hindi sila nakakapagbayad agad, babalik-balik sila hanggang sa matagalan. O kaya naman may violation,” she said.

Moreover, if there is a violation, recommendation for appropriate actions will depend upon the endorsements of regulatory offices, either outright closure or revocation of permit.
