Lazatin builds technical working group for children

ANGELES CITY - Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. ordered to build an Angeles City Technical Working Group (ACTWG) on the UNICEF-Philippines Country Programme for Children 2013-2023 to strengthen the rights given to the children in the Angeles City.

The main function of the Angeles City Technical Working Group is to contribute to the achievement of results for children as set forth in the Philippine Development Plan, Country Programme Action Plans (CPAP) and Workplans between the Government and UNICEF.

Collaborating with National Government Agencies, UNICEF and other development partners to ensure alignment of results for children with the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP), City Land Use Plan (CLUP), Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA), City Results Matrics, Local Development Investment Plan (LDIP), Annual Investment Plan (AIP) and other relevant sector plans is another function of the ACTWG on the UNICEF-Philippines Country Programme for Children 2013-2023.

The ACTWG on the UNICEF-Philippines Country Programme for Children 2013-2023 will also closely coordinate with the UNICEF in identifying the technical assistance needed by the City, in order to strengthen its capacity to deliver and achieve results for children.

Providing support and supervision to deprived barangays, implementing integrated programming for children, and sustaining effective service delivery, local policies and strategic reforms are also part of the plans, programs and projects of Mayor Lazatin that are also in line with the functions of the ACTWG.

The Angeles City Local Government, led by Mayor Lazatin and in coordination with the relevant local government officials, will lead in mobilizing, organizing and activating the Local Special Bodies.

The ACTWG will also aid in strengthening the city’s local monitoring system to ensure that results for children can be measured and reported.

The ACTWG will be comprised by Chairperson Atty. Kercee Lazatin, Co-Chairperson Edna L. Duaso of City Social Welfare and Development Office, City Planning and Development Coordinator EnP. Ami Victoria Dacanay, City Health Officer Dr. Leonario Santos, City Nutrition Officer Donatila Guanzon, Marilou Simeon of City Disaster and Risk Reduction and Management Office, City Youth Development Officer Angelo Ramos, Department of Education Division Superintendent Leilani Cunanan and SK Federation President Arnoah Prince Mandani.
